PES OPEN

The PES Open is Houston’s largest non-profit golf tournament, organized bi-annually by undergraduate students in the Program for Excellence in Selling (PES) at the University of Houston’s C. T. Bauer College of Business. Held every March and October at the Golf Club of Houston, the event provides students with hands-on experience in sales and event management while raising funds for scholarships and professional development opportunities.
Typically, students are assigned a sales quota of $1,200, with the collective effort generating over $235,000 and drawing more than 550 players over the course of an 8-week sales cycle. In the most recent tournament, Cole Matter significantly outperformed expectations by surpassing his quota by 403.88%, achieving $6,100 in total sales. His performance reflects a high level of professionalism, dedication, and sales acumen.
The PES Open not only supports charitable causes but also offers participants valuable networking opportunities across various industries. It stands as a testament to the practical, real-world training provided by the nation's leading undergraduate sales program.
